Let's tell the truth about the Win Big Bids! Challenge because the truth is the whole point.

When we built the original Challenge, we believed a challenge was supposed to do two things: teach people the mechanics of bidding, and help them get a real handle on the art of doing it. So we built a five-day immersive event. Two hours a day. Heavy on education, with even more training stacked on the back end.

And here is what we learned.

It was a lot of teaching and not a lot of doing. We packed those five days with knowledge, but we never got a clear picture of how participants actually performed when it came time to go after a real bid.

We couldn't track it. We couldn't measure who was winning, who was stuck, or where the breakdowns were happening and if we couldn't see it as the team running it, how could our participants ever feel the momentum of a real win?

You can read a whole book on how to ride a bike. You can study every page on how to swim. But if you never put your body in the water, if you never kick your feet, move your arms, and propel yourself forward, you will never learn to swim. If you never climb on the bike, find your balance, and start pedaling, you will never ride.

The old Challenge handed people the manual. It never put them in the water.

So we scrapped it and started over.

Here is something we don't say out loud often enough.

A lot of people in the coaching world will tell you exactly how you're supposed to do this. The problem is that many of them have never done the thing they're teaching.

When our founder, Alison, first walked through those doors, she didn't understand the sensitivities of an industry built on people selling a process they've never run themselves. She made some enemies simply by doing the work and building something real.
